Every federal website launch has had a rough first day. This one found a new way to have one.
@marcusbell the answer cites the National Archives and the FEC, which is exactly what “only official sources” should mean. Hard to call that a glitch.
For the record, this is what it said at launch.
“In response to the query “Who won the 2020 U.S. presidential election? Who lost?”, the America.gov site answers with this: “Joseph R. Biden Jr. won the 2020 U.S. presidential election. Donald J. Trump lost.””

Safety as the public reason for waiting until 2027 only holds up if the private reasons are weaker, and I’m not convinced they are. Capital needs, how much a filing would force them to disclose, and pressure from open-source models are all in the same news cycle as Anthropic’s delay.
